Funding Routes

There are many different avenues through which funding can be sought.  However these are ever changing.

There are also several criteria to be considered, e.g. your age, length of programme, number of qualifications within a framework.

Skills Funding Agency

A large proportion of funding for training comes through colleges and private training providers.  For more information and advice on next steps to take please click here

Apprenticeships

Funding for apprentices aged 16 to 18 years is guaranteed.  Funding for adult apprentices aged 19 years and over is generally available.

Foundation Learning Tier (Entry to Employment)

The Foundation Learning Tier is a personalised journey that has programmes of flexible learning specific to the needs of the learner.  Funding is guaranteed for 16 to 18 year olds.

Train to Gain

This is a funding service to support employers and help improve the skills of their employees and the quality of service.  This enhances your staff team, allowing them to feel valued when being offered extra training.

To explore and discuss your training needs contact JACE Managers.

Local Authority Bursary for Childcare

Local governments via their childcare services sometimes grant training bursaries to help learners gain priority qualifications.  Nursery settings can gain funding via the Graduate Leader Fund which supports settings to "home grow" Early Years professionals.  Each LEA has its own conditions.

Support for Unemployed 18 - 24 Year Olds

Young adults who have been out of work for 12 months or more have been targeted to return to the labour market.  Different employment settings could offer a 2-3 week work placement whilst the person decides if this could be their new career.
